Known as the world's most motionless bird, the Shoebill (Hashibirokō) has been combined with the Japanese word for travel (ryokō) to create the official character of Tourism EXPO Japan. "Even the bird that never moves feels inspired to travel."
The mascot symbolizes the excitement of travel and the anticipation of discovering new places, people, and experiences.
